Dairy Hill House

Geolyse re designed the original Dairy Hill house plan from its initial proposal as it suffered by being overly exposed to the west, potentially causing large cooling issues in summer. It was also proposed that the house would be constructed in a typical brick veneer fashion which is costly on a sloping site as well as being thermally inefficient. After consultation with the owners and the builder, the Geolyse architectural team developed an alternative solution which met all of the clients original accommodation needs and kept the astonishing views of the surrounding country side, while costing less to construct than the original proposal.

The Geolyse design also achieved a Northern aspect to the entire living area and master bedroom while minimising the exposure of glazing to hot summer sun. The Pavilion style construction also allowed for good cross ventilation and access between inside and out, taking full advantage of the entire block.

In constant consultation with the builder and the client, the Geolyse architectural team provided the initial schematic design service and followed this all the way through to council submission stage.  Geolyse also provided surveying services for the building set-out.
