Modernisation and Rationalisation
Geolyse provided engineering design and survey services for the modernisation and rationalisation of the open channel network and associated channel structures that form the Narromine Irrigation Scheme (NIS).
Our team of surveyors provided a contour and feature survey of approximately 265km of existing irrigation channel, Pump Station, Structures, Services, Road & Rail Crossings and general topographical features.
The survey team provided control along the channels for future works and creation of a registered easement 40m wide over the entire 265km channel.
The engineering design component consisted of hydraulic modelling and design of the overall channel system, design of channel earth works and associated concrete structures, design of fencing requirements and preparation of detailed construction plans for the modernised scheme.
These services provide for a vastly improved and modernized Irrigation Scheme with improved efficiency and reliability of water delivery. The final solution minimises conveyance losses, includes remote automation and flow metering of the scheme control structures and rehabilitates structures in poor condition.
